EU Mesocosm Facilities Access
– FIRST call for Transnational Access for 2010
Deadline: 30th November 2009; 24:00 CET


The MESOAQUA network offers researchers Transnational Access to a range of mesocosm facilities in contrasting environments located in 6 different facilities throughout Europe, and overlapping well the MEECE geographical focus. The call for access in now open for activities starting between 15 Jan and ending before 15 Dec 2010.

Users and user groups from all over the world can apply (leader or majority of PIs need to be from EU), access is free of charge including all the logistical, technological and scientific support (travel support also offered).

Candidates are strongly encouraged to contact the MESOAQUA partners directly and to acquaint themselves with possible collaborators at the infrastructures before submitting an application. Since mesocosm work is a truly cooperative activity, well-integrated and cooperative applications effectively exploiting the abilities and special competencies at the different infrastructures will have greatest likelihood of success, and thus have a competitive advantage in the selection process. There will be a second call with up to similar maximum amount of man-days for the respective facility with deadline 15 March 2010, for activities starting after 1 August and ending before 15 Dec 2010.

For activities during 2011 there will be a third call ca November 2010.
