Logistics
The Summer School will be held in Ankara, Turkey's capital city. Centrally located in Anatolia, Ankara is an important commercial and industrial city. It is the centre of the Turkish Government, and houses all foreign embassies.
The classes for the school will be held at the Convention and Cultural Center with is just a short work from where you will be staying.
Accommodation
Students will be housed on the campus of METU (Middle Eastern Technical University) in student guesthouses, arrangements for this will be made by the organising committee should your application prove successful.
The campus area is 4500 hectares and the forest area is 3043 hectares, including Lake Eymir, about 20 kilometres from the centre of Ankara. The lake is available to METU students for rowing, fishing, picnicking and general recreational activities. Bus service is provided from the METU main campus and locations in the city to the lake.
Travel
Unless awarded a Travel Grant students will need to fund their own transportation to Ankara.

Air
Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet, Atlasjet, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air and others thave frequent flights to/from Istanbul, and service to most other important cities more than about 300 km (186 miles) from Ankara.
Train
Ankara Gar (train station) has good service to and from Istanbul (and Eskişehir), and useful services to Izmir, and several cities farther away. A train heads to eastern Turkey: the Doğu Ekspresi.
BUS
Ankara's huge AŞTİ (AHSH-tee) bus terminal is the hub of the country's road transport network, with bus service to all points at all hours of the day and much of the night
Travel from Airport to University Campus
Take HAVAŞ buses (http://www.havas.net/en/shuttle-parking/ankara/) to the city center or bus terminal (AŞTİ) which is close to the University and then they take a taxi to METU (ODTU in Turkish).
At the gate of the University you will need to show your reservation which will be sent to you prior to the Summer School, this will allowyou to to enter the University. Please tell the taxi driver to go to the EBİ2 guesthouse.
Costs
Students will be provided with a per diem of 15 Euros per day to contribute towards their food costs. There are a range of restaurants on the METU Campus and in the local area were meals can be purchased from approximately 3–10 Euros.
All other local costs will be taken care of centrally.

A visa may be required for entry into Turkey, for some nationalities it can be obtain directly at the Turkish border gate, however for others it must be obtained in advance. Click here for further information
